Light Can Make Everything Beautiful
I woke up this morning to my special
alarm. Some have early morning roosters that cock- o-doodle-doo. Others may
enjoy in simplest form the styled alarm clock with a snooze button. However, I wake
up every morning at the same time around 9:30am to a train passing by for approximately
4 minutes long. I never get used to the sound of rusty wheels on the train
tracks, but I have gotten familiar with the echoing and shacking of my apartment
as a suitable alarm. The funny thing is that I decided to name the train Chuck.
Why Chuck I have no clue, it has nothing to do with how it looks; I happened to
be watching “Chuck and Larry” one night when it passed by.
As I stepped on to my patio, I
snapped a shot of the speeding train. The glimmer of the sunshine breaking through
the trees was the spark needed to capture the escaping of the train. Trees fill
the entire parking lot. There are some trees that are tall with long branches
along with some short trees that have tons of bushes around them. Other trees leaned
over to the left or right and had broken off into two trunks. There is a fence
that separates the train tracks that sits on top of a hill. But that does not
stop some of the leaves and branches seeping through to the other side. The sun
is so bright, but it does not take away from the color of everything
surrounding the trees. You still can see perfect shades of brown from the fence
and the greyish white color car porch that is held-up with medal- like poles.
Sitting on the patio, which I never
actually took the time to do before; I noticed that I could see much more on
the second floor than on the first floor. Being elevated makes a huge
difference. Higher up made me feel closer to the light, and farther from
shadows. The shadows are imprints of the leaves from the trees that cover most
of the parking lot in the morning because the sun has not fully risen. There are
gaps between some trees that allow the sun to beams through which give you a
beautiful ostentatiousness of color. The gravitation of the skews from the
cars, the gaps through the fence and the trees especially ones that are red,
orange, and white gives you such a mosaic structure. Vibrant in its own way, though
the colors aren’t as bright as a rainbow it doesn’t take away from the
simplicity of the earthy hues. In my opinion the freshness of the landscape
with all the trees along with the sunlight captures an essence of the limpidity;
and is my favorite image of light when it captures the train passing by. On any
other occasion the train can look old and shabby, but on a beautiful sunny
morning like this one today the light from the sun made the train looks new and
flashy. Light can make anything beautiful!
