Assignment 1 Description

Hi everyone,
I am excited to read all of the posts.  Hopefully mine is not too difficult to decipher.
Good luck!
Hannah Raudsep

I am sitting in my parents backyard.  The sun is just about to go down and casts shadows across the entire yard.  Somehow these shadows do not make the colors of the flowers, trees and grass any less vibrant.  As I sit at our grey wooden picnic table my cat decides to come and join me practically laying on top on the keys of my white macbook.  As he lies in front of me I observe the back of his head and his overweight body as his flabby belly rolls over the edge of the table.  A brown, grey, and black pattern covers his fur creating somewhat of a bullseye on his side.  Looking past my cat I see the grass I used to play soccer with my siblings on.  It is a jelly bean shape and runs the length of our yard.  Past the grass on my left is a gazebo.  This grey wooden structure has a pink cotton candy colored bloom rosebush paired with each of its four posts.  Beneath the gazebo towards the back fence there is a white painted wooden swing perfect for two to swing on.  Towards the two front posts under the gazebo there are two red adirondack chairs.  The floor of the gazebo is made up of bricks and the weeds that sprouted after the most recent rain are peaking their way through the cracks.  Each of the weeds a different shade a green and some even with small yellow daisy-like flowers.
Along the back fence and to the right of the gazebo are many trees.   The bright white trunks of the two birch trees stand out amongst the dark brown background of the wooden fence.  Blackberry vines run along thin wires up against the back fence.  Between the two birch trees there is a light grey textured rock.  Sprinkled across the redwood bark mound there are a couple of bright green leaved bushes and the occasional light pink flower.  Above one of the bushes is a cherry tree. The bark is a grey/ brown similar to the color of the fence, but still light enough to stand out from the background of the fence.  There are a couple small white blossoms beginning to appear amongst the dark green leaves of the cherry tree.  Slightly shaded by the cherry tree are three rose bushes.  The rose bushes are in full bloom with their bright white and pink blooms standing out amongst the sea of green created by the other plants and grass surrounding them.
To the right of the beautiful blossoms is a redwood archway leading to the vegetable garden.
Continuing to follow the outline of the grass on the other side of the archway are two bright green circular bushes with long stems topped with pale yellow flowers.  Shading the yellow flowers is a Japanese maple with a red trunk and light green shiny leaves. To the right of the tree is a light grey textured triangular rock a little bigger than a soccer ball completely surrounded by the greenery of small bushes.   Two more rose bushes are beside the rock one of a deep red and the other a pale orange.  These two bushes surround yet another triangular textured grey rock.  In front of the rock is a blank dirt section covered with redwood chips and continuing up to the edge of the grass.  Continuing along the edge of the grass there are two large birch trees.  Because they are closer to me the trunks are larger than the ones at the back of the yard.  This makes the white trunk with grey spots stand out even more.  In between the two birch trees there is a light green bush with coral colored flowers.  This bush has a yellow tint to its leaves and is the lightest green in the entire yard.
